Beau Mitchell started Kodiak in June 2023 after 10 years building fences. He still points them out to his family from the car.
How we work.

Why Kodiak exists.
I am one of the few “lucky” ones who can say I truly love my job. Prior to opening my own fencing company, I worked in the film industry doing Special Effects. I did this for 5 years. For 5 years, I worked Monday to Friday, often leaving the house before my family woke up, and I was lucky if I was home to say goodnight to our son. On weekends, I was so exhausted from the 12-14 hour workdays. The money was great, but I barely saw my family and missed so many important moments in my son's life.
Fast forward to last May, the film industry went on strike, and I partnered up with Grey Wolf Fencing. I wasn't sure what this would look like, but soon discovered I was working fewer hours, made good money, AND I was finally able to spend more time with my family. With 10 years of fencing experience already under my belt, I decided to open my own company Kodiak Contracting LTD
There have been so many perks to having my own company: I know I have a healthy work-life balance, I'm partnered with my best friend, and most importantly, I have my life back! Also, I can now excitedly point out to my family during drives, “I BUILT THAT FENCE!!! I MADE THOSE HANDRAILS!”
